How Pasado Uses AI

AI is everywhere in 2026, and most exam-prep apps now lean heavily on it to generate practice questions and study material. We want to be straightforward about how we approach AI at Pasado — what we do, what we don't, and what's coming.

1. Our V1 study material is written by humans

Every practice question, every rationale, every "Why Your Answer Was Tempting" explanation, and every clinical note you read in Pasado V1 is written and reviewed by humans on our team — nursing experts, educators, and reviewers who care about what students need to actually pass the PNLE. We do not use AI to generate the study material you see or to power features in the app.

This is a deliberate choice. Board-exam preparation matters too much to delegate the writing to a system that can confidently produce a wrong rationale. Our quality bar requires a human who understands Filipino nursing context to read every explanation before it reaches you.

2. How AI helps us build Pasado (behind the scenes)

Like most modern software teams, we use AI tools internally to help us build and operate Pasado. We're transparent about this because hiding it would be silly — AI tools are part of how engineering works in 2026.

Specifically:

  • Engineering and development. We use Anthropic's Claude (including Claude Code) to help us write, review, and ship code faster. A human engineer reviews every change before it merges.
  • OpenAI's ChatGPT for Filipino and Taglish language refinement of in-app and marketing copy, and for help navigating external admin dashboards (App Store Connect, Google Play Console, and similar). A human team member always reviews and edits ChatGPT's output before any copy ships or any action is taken.
  • Documentation drafts. Internal documentation, audit notes, and operational checklists often start as AI drafts that humans then edit, verify, and lock down.
  • Content drafting assistance. When we draft marketing copy or operational emails, an AI may help with a first pass. A human always reviews, edits, and approves before anything ships.
  • Customer-support drafting. When we reply to your support emails at hello@pasadoapp.com, we may draft responses with AI assistance, but a real person from our team reads and sends every reply.

Crucially: your personal study data, your answers, and your progress are not sent to AI providers to train their models. The AI tools we use internally do not have access to user accounts or learning history.

3. What Pasado V1 does NOT do with AI

To be crystal clear about V1:

  • No AI-generated practice questions reach you. Every question is human-authored.
  • No in-app AI tutor or chat.
  • No AI-generated personalized hints during your sessions.
  • No real-time AI-driven study paths.
  • No AI-generated voiceovers.

Your experience is deterministic — the same question, the same rationale, the same explanation for every student. That's by design.

4. What's coming in future versions

We're exploring AI features for V1.5 and V2 that we think would genuinely help — for example, an optional AI study buddy that can explain a tricky concept in your own words after you've already seen our human-written rationale, or adaptive practice that learns from your answer patterns and surfaces the topics you need most.

Three commitments when those features ship:

  1. This page will be updated first, before the feature goes live, with clear details about what each AI feature does and what data it uses.
  2. You'll see an in-app notice explaining the new feature before any AI capability touches your data.
  3. AI features will be optional, not mandatory. You'll always be able to use Pasado in its current human-authored, deterministic form if you prefer.

5. A note on AI accuracy

When AI features eventually arrive, they will be a learning aid — not a substitute for verified study material. AI-generated explanations can sound confident while being subtly wrong, which is dangerous on a licensure exam. We will design any future AI features so that AI output supplements our human-written rationales rather than replacing them, and we will be honest about AI's limitations whenever it's in use.

In the meantime, V1's experience is grounded in human-authored content you can trust.
